Port Eynon and Horton are a few of my favourite beaches on the Gower. Easily accessible with parking close by, amenities, shops and pubs but not built up and a beautiful beach. Port Eynon beach to the right facing the sea is one of best places on Gower for rock pooling. Horton is a gem.... Further down from Port Eynon and my fav place to go for a swim or sometimes a body board if theres surf. There are new parking prices and times at Horton as of summer 2023....residents now have a slightly cheaper rate!!!

Gower at it's best. Another beautiful bay. Parking £6 all day, with public conveniences. There's a few shops for chips, beach toys and snacks, and ice creams. There's tea and coffee and a pub. The beach is clean. Part sand, and then rock pools and an old salt house. Seasonal lifeguards. Youth hostel on the beach, and caravanning and camping too. There is also a lovely 8 mile walk to Rhossili to the right and about 6 miles to Oxwich to the left. (photos included of the walk to Rhossili). You can spend all day here and come home tired and happy. There is a lovely circular walk up behind the salt house, around the cliff and back down through the woods. Amazing views. Keep your dog on the lead, pick up after them and please take your litter home.

Great beach lovely facilities. A lot of rocks aa you go in the sea so wear water shoes. The sea was misty today but was still nice and warm and was able to enjoy the beach. The beach shower needs a clean up as the water gathering has Algae. Other than that the toilets are clean and tidy. Food at the beach chilly is a little on the expensive side but nice .

With views across the N Devon coast, a good carpark, classic beach gear shop that sells coffee and stuff and a fish and chip shop all with paths down to the sand - Classic british seaside beach. A fine place to read the paper, have a coffee or ice cream or BOTH ! Enjoy

Oh wow... The most beautiful beach I've been to.. Gorgeous place, amazing views. Will definitely be back Skysea camping site.. By far the best campsite we have ever been and the couple running it were simply delightful. The facilities, the cleanest we've ever seen. We will be visiting again, with lovely local pubs and a warm and friendly welcome to dogs and their owners.

I'm torn to give one star, but I was shocked and saddened to see Port Eynon bay looking so desolate today. I spent many a happy childhood on this beach in the early 1970s. It was, back then, an uninturupted stretch of fine golden sand from Port Eynon to Horton. The photos now tell a very different story. It is clearly now turning into a pebble beach, revealing rocks and more and more of an ancient prehistoric forest bed, that is now being broken up and washed away, great clumps of it strewn along the shoreline. The dunes that protect Port Eynon, used to be a rich environment of healthy green marram grass. The grass is now clearly dying, its root structure no longer able to hold it together. Brambles and other vegetation now taking hold where the marram grass once was, do not have the deep root structures of marram grass that are integral to the dunes very existance. The further the beach is eroded, the greater the waves come crashing in, speeding the process up. Sand that used to continuously supply the dunes from the beach, no longer able to. Those in power say it is has nothing to do with the commercial sand dredging off the coast of Gower. The contract licences granted over the past decades, that allow for millions of tonnes of sand to be taken off the coast every year is still ongoing. I say it, together with climate change, has a huge part to play in the demise of this once beautiful bay.
